Albany Center Gallery

 
 
The Albany Center Gallery is an art space dedicated to promoting contemporary art by emerging and established artists, primarily living in the Hudson Mohawk Region. The gallery is in Downtown Albany and a non-profit organization supported by the city and state as well as donations from private individuals, corporations, and foundations. Since its opening in 1977, the Albany Center Gallery has held at least seven major exhibitions each year. The gallery serves the art community as well as the public and admission to the exhibits, reception, and interviews with the artists is free.

Since its opening, the gallery has exhibited contemporary art by more than 1,000 artists from the region. Exhibits include paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, fiber art, installations, photographs, video, and mix media. Many artists who have exhibited at the Albany Art Center have gained national and international recognition. Artists who have held exhibitions here include Harold Gubnitsky, Paul Kant, Jason Schultz, Laura Cannamela, Russell Serrianne, and Ruby Silvious. The gallery opens Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
