Fulton Street Mall 

Brooklyn's Fulton Street Mall is a pedestrian street mall and one of the most popular and successful shopping districts in New York City. This pedestrian mall in Downtown Brooklyn covers 17 blocks stretching from Flatbush Avenue to Smith Street. Being a pedestrian street, private cars are prohibited from entering the mall area except buses, delivery trucks, and emergency vehicles. Fulton Street Mall is easily accessible with more than 10 subway lines passing through or near the area including the Jay Street-Borough Hall and Hoyt Street-Fulton Mall Stations.

There are nearly 250 retailers at Fulton Street Mall with more retail space expected as part of Brooklyn's urban renewal plan. Retailers here include a mix of independent stores, retail chains, and department stores with merchandise mostly priced in the mid-range. The shopping street is popular for clothes including women and children's clothes. Other merchandise include bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, toys, and electronics.

Macy's operates a department store at Fulton Street Mall but is much smaller than its more famous flagship store in Manhattan's Fifth Avenue. Major retail chains along this street mall include Foot Locker (shoes), Payless Shoes (shoes), Ashley Stewart (women's clothes), Radio Shack (electronics), and Jimmy Jazz (clothing and shoes). Jewelry stores include Zales, Contessa Jewelers, Jewelry Exchange, and J.C. Boutique. There are also discount stores including Conway, ABC Discount, Price Mart, and Rainbow.
