Lincoln Center 

The Lincoln Center is a leading performing arts center in New York City housed in a large building complex in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Twelve organizations reside at the Lincoln Center, each under its own management and board of directors. These include the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center Theater, Film Society of Lincoln Center, and New York Philharmonic. Another is the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., which manages the complex and is the presenter of the arts programs at the Center.

The Lincoln Center is equipped with a wide range of facilities to offer a superb theater experience. The Metropolitan Opera House is the home stage for the Metropolitan Opera and has a seating capacity for nearly 4,000. The Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater is the home stage for the Lincoln Center Theater, which produces Off-Broadway productions. The Film Society of Lincoln Center screens films and holds filmmaker's discussion at the Walter Reade Theater.

The Lincoln Center is the venue for nearly 400 performing arts events each year and attended by nearly five million visitors. Tickets are available from several box offices at the Lincoln Center as well as purchases by phone and online. There are guided tours throughout the week starting at the David Rubenstein Atrium, taking visitors to some of the theaters and an opportunity to see what happens off stage.
