Getting In

By Train on Amtrak

Amtrak’s rail service connects New York City via Penn Station with other cities in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Canada. Train reservations can be made online or by phone. Amtrak routes serving Penn Station include:
  • The Northeast Regional - Connects Boston, Providence, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, and Newport News.
  • The Acela Express - Provides service between Boston, Providence, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
  • The Adirondack - Passes through the scenic Hudson Valley connecting Yonkers, Saratoga Springs, Fort Edwards, and Montreal in Canada.
  • The Palmetto, Silver Meteor, and Silver Star - Connects Philadelphia, Washington, Savannah, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami.
  • The Empire Service - Connects Yonkers, Croton-Harmon, Poughkeepsie, Rhinecliff, Hudson, Albany, Schenectady, Amsterdam, Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls.
  • Lake Shore Limited - Connects Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, Cleveland, Toledo, and Chicago.
  • The Crescent - Connects Philadelphia, Washington, Greensboro, Atlanta, and New Orleans.
  • The Maple Leaf - Connects Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, and Toronto in Canada.
  • The Pennsylvanian - Connects Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh.
There is also a rail service between New York City and California, with the journey taking three days and changes train at Chicago.

ClubAcela is a private lounge located on the Amtrak Concourse at the Eighth Avenue side of Penn Station. Guests are provided with comfortable seating, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, newspapers, television, and a conference room. Access to ClubAcela is limited to premium passengers including those booked in first class and sleeping car accommodation. Other passengers include holders of ClubAcela Single-Day Pass, Continental Airlines President’s Club, and Amtrak Guest Rewards members.
