Queens Theatre in the Park

Queens Theatre in the Park (often referred as the Queens Theatre) is a community theater in Queens, located next to the 12-story stainless steel Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Queens Theatre began as the Theaterama and was part of the New York State Pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair. When the fair closed in 1965, the Theaterama was spared from demolition and converted into a live entertainment venue.

The Queens Theatre comprises of a 476-seat main theater and 96-seat experimental theater. It is a major venue in Queens for plays, musicals, concerts, and dance performances including Broadway revivals. The theater is also the venue for several cultural programs including the Asian Cultural Festival, Black Cultural Festival, and Greek American Performing Arts Festival. Other programs include screening of films considered masterpieces.
