Staten Island Children's Museum

The Staten Island Children’s Museum is located within the grounds of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center at Richmond Terrace. The popular museum is devoted to kids, focusing on the arts, sciences, and humanities. The interactive exhibits at the museum allow kids to discover, use their imagination, and subsequently learn through hands on experience rather than just watching. Besides the interactive exhibits, the museum also organizes special events and activities such as workshops, story telling sessions, and performances.

The Staten Island Children’s Museum comprises of nine themed areas. At the Big Game, kids can enjoy playing on large board games with life-size pieces including chess, checkers, and dominoes. At Ladder 11, kids get to put on gears used by firefighters and jump on board a fire engine. At the Great Exploration, kids to get to learn about various the environments such as the rainforest, tundra, and ocean floor. At the Bugs and Other Insects section, kids can crawl through an anthill, try on an insect exoskeleton, and watch busy bees working in their hive.
